Egyptian party supports protection of Camp Ashraf

Egypt’s al-Majd al-Dastouri party has released a declaration on Camp Ashraf supported by all of the party’s circles and branches in 16 provinces in Egypt and including close to a million members.

The declaration says, “We condemn all of the crimes, killings and anti-democratic treatment by the Iraqi forces and the Iranian regime’s agents in relation to the suppression of freedoms and rights of Ashraf residents.”

The declaration also censures the siege on the residents of Ashraf, saying they are at the “forefront of freedom and democracy in Iran and seek universal rights.”
“We support the demands of Iranian opponents and democratic Iraqi forces and demand immediate action to end all forms of violence and siege against Ashraf.”
The declaration was signed by Seyyed Hassan al-Sharqawi, the chair of the Foreign Policy Committee of the party.
